You can use your mobile phone as an alternative camera for your web conference. Perhaps you need to record something in a location physically separate from your computer. Maybe you want to use your phone on a stand as a makeshift document camera.
In order to use your mobile phone in your conference, you'll need to download the Google Meets app from your device's app store. Once you've installed the app and signed in using your dallaschristian.com account, it can join a conference just like any other participant. Your name will appear twice in the list of participants, once for each device. One thing to be aware of -- you should never have two devices connected to the same conference in the same room with both mics and speakers turned on. In other words, you will want to turn down the volume and mute the mic of one of the devices -- otherwise you generate a bunch of echo and feedback that's really annoying.
Remember, Google Meet determines which participant to display onscreen based on who's talking. If you're phone's mic is muted, it will never be the visible participant on-screen. Similary, if your computer's mic is muted, it will never be visible on-screen. This can be overridden by the participants using the "pin" feature. Be aware of what you want the participants to see, and make sure that the proper mic is enabled. This is particularly important when recording the Meet conferences for watching on-demand.
When using your phone as a document camera to present your piece paper, make sure your phone is rotated in LANDSCAPE mode to make the screen is as clear as possible, and you can "zoom in" by moving your phone closer to the piece of paper.
