Hippo Video is another screencasting add-in for Chrome that allows you to record your screen, voice, and/or webcam. This tool offers a couple of advantages over Loom . It allows direct integration to Google Classroom, which means you can post your video to any of your Google Classroom classes as an announcement/assignment/question/material. It also offers additional editing tools, such as the ability to overlay text on the screen. The school has purchased licenses for all teachers and you should have received an invitation in your email.
You can see Ben Stevens' video training of Hippo Video (fast forward to 4:30 where the actual training starts).
Lastly, there is a Hippo Video mobile app that allows you to use your phone's camera to record content as a handheld camera or as a document camera) and automatically stores the videoin your Hippo Video library online where it can be added directly to Google Classroom, eliminating the need to manually upload the file to Google Drive. See the Mobile Recording page for more info.
(I don't want anyone seeing my stuff , except a bunch of students.)
There are two steps you have to take to make your videos private.
You have to first create a folder and mark that folder's VISIBILITY =ONLY TO ME.
You must then link your videos to that folder, and remove any links to any other folders.
Here is quick video showing how this is accomplished.
Loom is a free add-on to Google Chrome which allows you to record clips of unlimited size. The clips are saved on the Loom site with a link that you can share with your audience to be viewed on-demand (such as through Google Classroom.) It has some post-recording editing features, like trimming the beginning and end of the recording, as well as removing dead space in the middle.
Loom is providing the upgraded PRO version at no cost during the COVID-19 outbreak. Sign up here using the SIGN UP WITH GOOGLE link, making sure to use your dallaschristian.com email to get the PRO version.
